When you send us a business that becomes a client, we thank you with a credit on your bills.

How it works
Send a business our way. Once that business has paid Mainspring Digital $300 in total, you get a $200 referral credit on your account. A website deposit clears $300 at once; a smaller monthly plan may take a few months.
The business you send pays our normal prices. There is no limit on how many referral credits you can earn.
Who counts as a referral
- The business is new to us. It has not paid us an invoice or had a proposal from us in the last 12 months.
- It names you in writing before it signs. A text or email to us is enough.
- One referrer per business. If more than one person is named, the first one named gets the credit. Credits are not split.
- It is not your own business. You cannot refer a business you own, or one that shares an owner or a household with you or your business.
If you are not a client yet
You do not need to be a client to refer someone. We record your $200 credit the same way, and it waits on file until you become a client. It then goes on your account like any other credit. We do not pay it as cash or a gift instead.
What the credit pays for
A credit pays for our own fees on your bills: monthly plans, setups, launches, one-time work and hourly work. It never pays for costs we pass through to you at cost, such as printing, ad spend or another company's fees.
A referral credit is a way of paying, not a discount. Any discount on a bill comes off first, and the credit comes off what is left. Whatever is not used carries to your next bill.
Using your credit
There is nothing for you to do. The credit comes off your next bill before it is charged. If the credit is bigger than the bill, the bill is $0 and the rest comes off the next one. For example, with a $200 credit:
- Monthly plan
- $299
- Referral credit
- ($200)
- Charged
- $99
No cash value
A credit has no cash value. It cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged for money. If we ever refund something you paid for with credit, we refund it as credit.
When a credit ends
A credit does not expire while you are a client. When our work together ends with nothing owed, any unused credit ends with it. If we end our work together for any reason other than a breach of your agreement, we take any unused credit off your final bill.
If a payment is reversed
If the business you referred has its payments refunded or charged back before you use the credit, we remove the credit. A credit you have already used is never taken back, except in a case of fraud.
Reviews and posts
No credit ever depends on a review, a rating or a social post. If you post about us in public while you hold a referral credit, please say so in the post.
Privacy
Your bill never shows the name of the business you sent. We will not tell you that a business became our client, or thank you for it by name, unless that business says we may. How we handle information is in our Privacy Policy.
Changes and decisions
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date it last changed at the top. If your signed agreement with us covers credits, it controls. If there is any question about whether a referral counts, our decision is final.
